Today was the usual, soldiers in pain. Today I got to go exploring to help the wounded on the battle field. I only get to do this every once in a while so it was pretty amazing, but yet disgusting. I had to work in the trenches helping the wounded. The trenches are usually crammed and sometimes really muddy but luckily it wasn't muddy today. It is really scary but I love to help the wounded and my country! One of these days I am hoping to find the love of my life!! Lately I have been really missing my mom and dad. Also my sister which is basically my best friend, We talk about everything.

Sorry I didn't get to write yesterday I was busy all night long taking care of a patient who was near a grenade that exploded . Then we talked for a long time, at least when he wasn't sleeping or actually could speak. I have never been so close to a patient before. I cant wait until he gets better. I still don't know his name but that doesn't matter right now. While I was talking to him he was talking about the war. I think he said the Germans and the french were fighting on the western front ( I would hate to be the front line) and some of the Germans were coming to the Eastern front. I have a feeling we might be getting very busy.
Today was a good day! I saved a lot of men. I amputated a few arms and legs. The usual! I have seen things that you will never want to see in your life. It is disgusting but it feels good to save someones life. Sometimes I wonder if the soldiers are scared. When the front life goes to fight are they scared or do they feel strong and brave because they are doing it for their country? Whenever I talk to some of them they say they are brave and it feels good to stand up for their country. I wonder if they are putting on a show or really mean it. Today there was a soldier that was only 15 or 16! They have to be scared. I can't even think of how worried his parents must be. Their little teenager son fighting in a war. OH!! I almost forgot I figured out my favorite wounded soldiers name. It's Stepan. We were talking for a while and I think he might like me back! He is getting better to. I know he is going to survive. There are a lot of wounded soldiers coming in now I have to go!

Sorry I havn't wrote lately we have been very busy. I am excited because there is only 5 days until Christmas. I have been talking to Stepan lately, we want to spend Christmas together since neither of us can go home. He is almost better. I guess that is good, but I will miss him. He said he will keep in touch with me still. There was a new poster put up in the hospital today. The poster is telling people to give money to the goverment so they can buy more supplies for the soldiers in the war. What I like about this poster is that it uses a picture of a trench from the war. The soldiers are working really hard in the war and I think they deserve it. My patient is calling for me so I will write again later!

It is Christmas and I am sad but yet excited. I get to spend it withmy new friend Stepan, but yet i wish my family was here to celebrate it with me. I miss them a lot. Even though today is Christmas I still have to work. For the soldiers Christmas present some of the nurses and I sang Christmas songs and decorated the hospital. I think the soldiers like it a lot. Well this is my break and I am really hungry, so I will try to write again tomorrow. BYE!
